Podcasts for People

Podcasts are booming right now - everyone’s got one, everyone else wants one! I help clients make their dreams a reality, crafting podcasts which resonate with their audience.

The best thing about podcasts is the storytelling. Through extensive research I was able to uncover the incredible life journey of Blackmagic Design CEO Grant Petty, and show it to the world through Lawson Media’s podcast Building a Unicorn.

I have proven success across all aspects of production, from in depth research to project managing and presenting entire podcasts, such as Monash Rural Health’s Doctor What? Doctor Where?

Videos with Virality

My most successful piece of content is a quick video showing how Sovereign Hill makes its raspberry drops. It has received more than 59 million views. How does that happen?

Viral content is impossible to manufacture, don’t believe anyone who can guarantee this scale of success. I can summarise this video’s extraordinary viewership with one word:

Luck.

Beneath that luck is a solid foundation which makes people want to watch. Sovereign Hill’s nostalgia factor, the visual appeal of making raspberry drops and the video’s evergreen nature keeps driving millions of views.

Videos don’t succeed without good production quality either. Whether it’s a simple sequence of making lollies, or complex productions involving interviews and a narrative, every one of my productions is made with care and quality.

Award winning Journalism

Working at the National Broadcaster is more than just making viral videos about lollies. I know, shocking!

Most days you’ll find me awake before dawn producing radio, following the time honoured tradition of combining news and entertainment, however the ABC is an incredible playground for anyone with cross-platform talent.

To start with, I work with colleagues to produce online articles for the ABC’s website and app.

As a Radio Producer it is difficult to find time to write articles. My contribution to the bureau’s digital strategy usually involves collaborating with colleagues to adapt radio stories to online audiences.

Occasionally I find time to publish my own articles, like this story about Victorian holidaymakers abandoning their cars in Queensland to avoid border problems. It received 71,000 views and reached the top 10 regional state and national news stories for the week.

See my extended portfolio for other examples of online articles.

Award Winning Emergency Broadcasting

The catastrophic 2019/2020 Summer Bushfires threw me into a range of Emergency Broadcasting roles with no prior experience, producing rolling coverage and compiling the torrent of warnings for broadcast on ABC Radio.

These extraordinary few weeks were filled with career defining moments like acting as Victoria’s Emergency Broadcasting Coordinator and taking a call from the Prime Minister.

The ABC received a Walkley Award for Excellence in Journalism, recognising the National Broadcaster’s leading role in providing life-saving information to the public during this disaster.

But wait, there’s more!
